Starbucks Vigorous Attempt to Reduce Carbon Footprint

        Starbucks New Environmental Sustainability Commitment

It goes without saying that Stabucks remains a major corporation globally. The famous coffeehouse chain has progressively evolved, as of early 2020 the company operates over 30,000 locations wordwide in more than 70 countires. While demand is undeniably high, it's crucial to analyze how the Starbucks corporation is dealing with nationwide affairs. The brand has worked tremendously to ensure their stores are environmentally friendly, while also developing new goals to become "resource positive". These goals have been proudly published, and entirely available for any consumer to access.

Starbucks new sustainability push, will undoubtedly change the traditional business design both in stores and universally. This "sustainability push" will be implemented in a variety of ways, as Starbucks wants to take direct initative.  The initative is centered upon five main goals: 1. Add more menu items that are "plant-based"2. Shift from single-use packaging to resuasble packaging 3. Invest in new farming and forestry practices that conserve water 4. Reduce material waste and food waste through better recycling 5. Develop more eco-friendly stores, operations, manufacturing and delivery (Roberts, 2020).

These golas are reflective of Starbucks eagerness to confront their overwhelming concern, of our planet's future. The corporation as a whole is commited to making these shifts, while also wanting to provide the same costumer experience. Starbucks has conducted extensive research regarding how they can measure the success of thsese initatives, and passionately released their Environment Baseline Report.

One shocking discovery the coporation took away from the report was that, a majority of Starbucks footprint for greenhouse gasses was significantly consequent to the usage of dairy products. With this being confirmed, Starbucks is politely pushing consumer's to try various milk alternatives. These milk alternatives include: almond milk, coconut milk, soy milk, or oat milk. Pushing these milk alternatives will be a major component, in promoting the established sustainability push.

Starbucks has put alot of time and thought into their environmental outlook, and have took into consideration both their perspective as a corporation and their consumer's perspective. They want to verify that their brand loyalty is being honored, and truly wish that their customer's positively welcome their recent environmental drive.
